Now available for private charter or exclusive events, this century-old yacht has been meticulously restored and invites sailing enthusiasts and lovers of understated luxury to live an extraordinary moment at sea.

A Century-Old Yacht, Witness to the Golden Age of Yachting
Commissioned in 1914 by the renowned Scottish shipyard William Fife & Sons, Sumurun was designed by the legendary naval architect William Fife III. Known for his graceful, high-performance yachts, Fife left a legacy of iconic designs, and Sumurun is among his finest.
From her early days, Sumurun stood out for her sailing capabilities and refined design. Privately owned by passionate sailors, she has competed in prestigious classic regattas across Europe—from Cowes to Cannes, Saint-Tropez to Monaco. A silent witness to more than 100 years of yachting history, she has retained every bit of her charm and prestige.
What’s in a Name? The Exotic Origins of “Sumurun”
The name Sumurun evokes a world of elegance and escape. It originates from a 1910 Orientalist play by Friedrich Freksa, which became a successful opera and a silent film by Ernst Lubitsch in 1920. The story features a mysterious dancer in a tale of passion and intrigue set in an imagined Arabian palace.
Naming the yacht Sumurun was a poetic choice—an homage to beauty, freedom, and exoticism. Today, the name travels with her from port to port, a symbol of her timeless grace and artistic legacy.
Restored with Passion, Preserved with Care
Restoring a historic yacht while respecting its soul is a rare art. Sumurun underwent a complete and meticulous renovation to preserve her original spirit while ensuring modern comfort and safety.
Traditional craftsmanship was honored throughout the project: solid mahogany and teak were carefully restored or replaced, and the original brass fittings were preserved or recreated. Her handmade sails combine vintage charm with high-performance materials, allowing smooth and safe sailing.
Inside, vintage elegance reigns—polished woodwork, brass portholes, soft lighting. At the same time, the yacht discreetly integrates modern conveniences such as air conditioning, high-end bedding, and premium sound systems. The result: a perfect balance between tradition and contemporary luxury.
